In August 2023, I was hired to assist with Soul Supper, a human connection brand that fosters meaningful conversations by bringing people together through curated networking dinner parties—where phones are off the table, and genuine interaction is encouraged. I first connected with Macaline West, the founder of Soul Supper, while assisting with a Legacy Philanthropy event earlier that summer. I admired her achievements as a woman in the sports industry and was eager to contribute to her growing brand.
During my time with Soul Supper from August to December, I worked alongside another intern to develop a cohesive social media strategy that aligned with the brand’s mission. We curated a consistent social media theme, designed graphics, and collaborated on the best ways to announce each supper. I managed all of Soul Supper’s social media platforms, including Instagram and TikTok, implementing a structured content calendar to maintain engagement. By creating compelling copy for captions and event content, as well as editing short-form videos for TikTok and Reels, I helped increase Instagram’s content interactions by 97% in just two months and boosted overall following by 29% within the same period.
Through this role, I strengthened my ability to shape digital brand identities, enhance engagement through strategic content, and drive audience growth—all skills that will continue to benefit my career in public relations, social media strategy, and brand management within the sports industry.
